Q-munity
A community-based non-profit organization consistings of freaks and weirdos who happen to have passion for films and other hedonistic materials in the world. Q-munity has been organizing the annual Q! Film Festival Jakarta and has spread its wings to other cities like Jogjakarta and Bali for the last 3 years. They are also responsible for founding another film festival called Moonwater Film Festival.

Members of Q-munity:

Ade
As an Afro-Indonesian, Ade is keeping her real name a secret (it's actually a very Javanese female name, we heard). Frequently mistaken as a guy, she has a sharp voice and managed volunteers in the past few years. But this year, she is slowing down as she has to finish her school. She is acting as photographer to record the life of the festival.

Cucur
Cucur is her celebrity’s name that reflects her full-time job. Her real name is so boring that she will commit suicide if somebody recognizes it. She is always found in all the artsy-fartsy events as groupies. Her aim is to be photographed by Tatler Magazine. Cucur is in charge of a photo exhibition.

Haly
The festival parties would be sour without his involvement. With his panic mode “on” all the time, he enslaves some cheerful cheerleader team of loud funny fairies. He likes horror films but he is trans-phobic. You can easily find him with his groupies in a 24 hour café in the centre of the city almost every weekend.

Jamal
After spending some quality time in Q! Film Festival in Jogjakarta, this angelic face guy moved to the big city Jakarta to become the big time slut. He is a local celebrity gossip centre. He consumes his precious time watching all the trashy TV soaps. He is in charge of administration.

John
As a failing drag queen, he becomes a clean freak. While others drowning in their affairs, he pretends like he doesn't care and yet puts his ears right where they are supposed to be. His fussyness about movie drives us nuts and is infectious with many dramas in return. This cats-hater can be found lighting his cigarettes in wi-fi gallery-cafe. His bitchyness will snap sharply and leave a wound for days.

Kitty
Kitty is not his real name. His anorexic figure will put America’s Next Top Models to shame. He lives by eating comic books and watching Japanese and Korean flicks. As an expert on any computer games, he manages the traffic of the films during the festival. We heard that now he constantly receives night calls from a woman from Far-Far Away.

Leila
This Dian Sastro wannabe is an anthropology graduate. She bangs her head strong enough to rock indie music that she lost her mind constantly. She dreams to become a petty crime mafia but ended up drowned in her cigarettes smoke. Her traumatic problems with men make her think that she might like girls (according to the latest gossip tabloid).

Mumu
This literature freak writes film reviews. His hobby is to collect barely legal young boys. Although often mistaken as a young boy himself, he has an intellectual old mind. Mumu now is handling the promotion and media coordinator. His dream is to homonize the world by writing articles mostly on gay subjects.

Poetry
(Read: Pee-u-tree) believes that she was queer who died young in her past life. Her boring job in the oldest teen magazine makes her becoming the mother of the festival's volunteers recruitment. She compensates her sweets eating disorder by watching films till her eyes popping out. Psst…this fashionista has a pig farm in her car.

Suryani
Starting her career as a volunteer, she is now (literally) snapping everybody to become one of the most important administrators in the Q-mittee. Rumours said that her room was used as one of the Titanic movie setting. Unlike other Chinese, she has 2 dogs and rides her bike from time to time (“Dyke on bike” as we say in the queer vocabulary). To become a little more Chinese-like, she is now taking a boring Chinese language course.
